ULEZ challenge !!! - replacement engine on LR4 2015

Hi

Registered before Sep2015 so non Euro 6

But engine replaced (can provide number) in 2020 and as far as I know it was new not recon but haven’t confirmed.

Questions

-If the engine is new surely it will ( or potentially)be Euro6

-ULEZ just go by registration plate and quite frankly are no help.

-ULEZ state if I can get LR to confirm it’s Euro 6 ( at manufacture ) all good except LR can’t do, in part as it has a new engine !

Frankly this is bonkers are there not testing stations that can prove or otherwise compliance, I have found bike testing stations.

This is more a point of principle than a necessity and it would be good for LR4 to know a process if they have to get a replacement engine.

Thank you

Obvious question but does your car have AdBlue? If not I’d have thought you have sweet naff all chance of being Euro 6 compliant.

Unlikely. The emissions category is much more than just the engine. Most likely yours was just replaced like for like with the correct engine for the age of car.

I understood it's the same engine but has an emissions control system that reduces exhaust particles to within acceptable limit, so all they will have done for your new engine is swap the lump and not add the emissions kit.
