Unable to quote the last post |

Am I having a blonde moment (non gender specific of course)
When trying to use the quote button in relation to the last post on a topic, I'm not able to.
Is this the norm or am I missing something.

Normal. It to prevent quoting previous post, which is deemed unnecessary.

ISTR that the last post in any thread doesn't have a 'quote' button as you can reply directly to it. Only previous posts have the quote option. As you slide down the banister of life
may no splinters point your way

True, but it can be useful when replying to only part of the post(cutting away what not needed), especially if the post is quite long, and touching few subjects.

Pah! You need to be on a certain other forum... quite after quote. A post can be miles long due to the copying of previous comments
