I did my D3 with waxoil myself at 4 years old and a top up every 2 years after, it was as sound underneath 12 years later when we parted company Big Cry as the day I bought it including brake pipes and side steps. I didn’t go the full monty like this fellow though Thumbs Up

I did research this time round.
Had the D2 waxoyled in a place near Newcastle who had been established a number of years however when I tried to book the 1st inspection I had all sorts of excuses why it couldnt be done.
Hes now ceased trading.
Looking back I suppose it was too good to be true for the underside to be washed dried and treated in a 10hr period.

A lot of companies also don't bother to take out the wheel arch liners which is where the crud gets trapped Shocked

United Kingdom 2007 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Stornoway GreyDiscovery 3

Having just this last week ( Thurs , fri , sat nights after work , 17hours on Sunday and another 13 on Monday ) spent nigh on 50 hours doing a recently purchased swb shogun i can attest it is a hideous job , which I never want to repeat.
At least 60% of that time was spent prepping , scraping wire brushing , sanding etc , all the rust from any and every part/item underneath , then Dinitrol rc800 rust converter then the 4921 hard wax protector.

I have various things that upset me vehicle related , the biggest being rust! Mine looked like it had been dragged from the North Sea , I’m guessing had spent a lot of its life near the coast, the interior, exterior were superb , and now mint after a bit of tlc, so I just couldn’t leave the underside to rot.

Now is the time as it’s so warm there is no chance of trapping any moisture under the coatings , this company may have heaters/ovens to address that , and the luxury of ramps, I did mine on axle stands on my ( Censored uncomfortable gravel drive) and many a time I thought I couldn’t face getting up for work every day if this was my job Big Cry

I at least know I have done a thorough job , not skipped any areas there is not a jot of visible rust anywhere underneath Very Happy
Hopefully just top ups over the years will suffice.

Hope yours is as good and they do a proper job you Thumbs Up

This company is worth travelling to be used.

Good to see they are being very through with it. Thumbs Up
Need to come to a SCAM curry to let us see it as I know 2 of us are looking at getting the undersides cleaned up.

I would have happily left it with someone too , but time and cost constraints meant it wasn’t happening.

I have had various suggestions of price from different places and I now know the attractively priced ones would only ever ha e been a basic clean and then a blathering of everything in under seal to just cover up the mess and rust they didn’t touch, trapping it in for it to rear it’s head at a later date, no way could sub £500 charged cover the labour never mind the produxts.

In total I spent £230 on dinitrol from Frosts, and my vehicle is a swb so obviously smaller than a disco.

Yours is looking good so far hopefully spot on upon pickup. Thumbs Up
