Unjamming a squealer with the GAP tool

So, did a rear disc and pad replacement last week on my 06 TDV6 D3. Didn't replace park brake shoes as there was very little wear. Adjusted up following the brake bible. Yesterday, parked on a steep grass verge, when I returned and attempted to reverse off, EPB squealed but wouldnt release. I had to pull the emergency cable to get moving.
When I got home, epb still made strange noises, I did the unjam procedure using my BT gap tool. Still makes the same noise. Does it need re latching? Is there anything else on the gap tool I could try before I spend the afternoon under the car pulling the front off the module and doing it manually?
Thanks 😀

Regarding shoes. It’s important to ensure the pivot lever on the rear of the shoe (that connects to cable) is free to move.

You’ll need to open up the module to unjam it and wind it back. I’d suggest new shoes and another adjust as well Thumbs Up

I had something similar, having to pull the release cable. The IID tool relatched it without having the bother of opening up the module. It's been working ever since - a good couple of years ago.

I can't quite remember the routine, but if I recall correctly I put it (the EPB) into service mode using the tool, then relatching procedure.
