Just think of it as a genuine, 7 seater, Disco Sport (as opposed to the 5 + (2 x hamsters) configuration of the DS) and you've got its reason for being.
It's just a shame that they had to abandon the, successful, Discovery line to provide space for it and then confuse just about everyone by reusing the, otherwise redundant, "Discovery" name.
Looking on the bright side, it does give Mercedes E & S Class and BMW 5 & 7 Series drivers something half decent (and not too unfamiliar, after driving their current cars) to choose from when their company cars are due for change next time.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

Well I am still strongly against Brexit and now Trexit and I continue to dislike the Discovery Sport Plus and see no reason to change my views on any of the three.Andy
