Upper and lower tailgate issues
My upper tailgate started to play up and not always open, so once it opened I undid the panel and pulled out the switch actuator.
Whilst I order the parts to be sent to me, I decided to take the upper tailgate latch off to prevent it locking me out.
All good do far.
Now the lower tailgate won't open, no click when pressing the switch.
Have I done something by removing the latch or is it just a coincidence?
Loads of info on upper but not so much on the lower.Any help appreciated.
Is Geoff. still doing his modified tailgate latches? No keen on pestering directly him at the moment.

Cheeky bump.
And an update.
I have checked the power to the lower tailgate switch and I have just under 12v. The switch has checked out on continuity test, so I am assuming that means the switch is working. So not sure where to look with this now. I can't believe both actuators have gone.
I have also figured out how to manually open the tailgate.....which was a plus.
The upper tailgate looks to be the actuator, the cable is good but will change it anyway. An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

Finally got the bolts I had lost to fit the new lower lock actuator. Fitted everything together and it doesn't open.
I could hear the actuator working but it was not releasing the catch.
I tried peeling back the cover as per other threads and pulling on the cable. No joy.
In the end I had to break the cover to undo the actuator and get it out through the hole.
To unplug the electrics I had to break the cover by the wire tailgate supports.
Once off I tested it, and the actuator works but is not movIng the cable.
I undo the cover of the new unit and the cable is not connected. Really p d off......had to break the rear panel to do all of this.
