Upper tailgate switch cover thingie issue

Noticed that the silver bit on too if the reversing light/rear door switch bit was a bit loose and sitting like this.

And fairly easy to persuade it to open up further.

It looks like the cover fits into the frame of the black plastic bit, but the bottom right fixing has failed. Is the cover available separately and straight forward to fit or is it the whole unit. I wouldn't be worried about having a black one but it's one of the parts I didn't liberate from DB. Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

the screws corrode over time - had problem on my D3. you can get the individual parts separately. unscrews from inside the tail gate after the trim is removed. 3 or 4 torx screws if I remember correctly

I am after a part number for the plastic part know how to get it off but want to get a new one as the fixing corrode making it difficult to get it to tighten up correctly and water tight. The release switch and the number plate lights clip into this part. Found this LR073594 ouch found out the price how do they justify that amount of money for some preformed plastic. Big Cry

I have exactly the same problem on my D4. I too was surprised at the cost but if it’s broken what alternative do we have? I will ask Dan at Duckworths for a price. HOT TUB, Have you sussed out how to swap the cover over??

I didn’t get round to fixing it, she went to her new owner with a bit of a loose cover. Whistle
