V8 brake up grade from Advanced Factors
So on the recommendation of the guys down at AF I’ve upgraded my front discs to the mammoth V8 set. I’m actually really impressed by how they look and am looking forward to seeing how they perform.
The rears are definitely on my list of bits to do next.
Thanks again Paul for your patience with annoying customers that don’t know what they want, me again!

I didnt notice a vast improvement when i did mine as you only press the pedal hard enough to brake the vehicle but when i used my friends D3 i didnt think i was going to stop, you have to press the pedal a lot harder to get the same amount of braking.

I did this a few years ago with the AF kit and whilst the braking was vastly improved, after a while I suffered the juddering that is well documented with non-OEM brake discs. It got really bad and after replacing the discs with Brembos all is well. This is not an AF specific issue, one that seems to affect non-OEM or similar discs.
It is a very useful upgrade but if the kit still includes non-OEM discs be aware you may get a vibration through the steering as they get older. Hopefully this has been resolved now.Tony

It is a worthwhile upgrade so I wouldn't worry. IF you happen to start to get an odd wobble at speed through the steering and/or vibration under braking (that goes away if you stop) then suspect the discs first. I don't know how common or not this is and it is not related to the upgrade specifically, is something that seems to afflict non-OEM discs of whatever size. There are various threads on here about it, but I don't think it is widespread.
If you do get the vibration at least you won't waste time trying to figure out what in the steering or drivetrain is defective, as I did.
For the record I still get most of my parts and service kits from Advanced and have done for some years.Tony
