Can anyone tell me - Do all V8's have locking rear diffs ?

No, they do not.
Engine and locking rear diff were separate choices the original buyer had to make

There can’t be many D3 V8s in U.K. with that option - most people would not have chosen it. It is very rare on the TDV6s, too.
The D3 is quite capable in the terrain without a rear locking differential, though.

Hmm... I will need to check mine. There is no 4x4 info screen... is that a condition of it? or could there be a rear locker without the display? Pre-Production

I thought I had it because I had a padlock but  when I looked at the diff.

there is one on ebay just now (a v8 rear locking diff)... you could get that and the ecu and wire it in... it is on my list of things I might do, but it seems a little pointless when you cant actually lock them.

ARB makes front and rear air lockers for the D3, I believe.

Mine didn't (but it does now) 05 D3 V8 HSE, LR Passion tree bars, wildbear compressor guard, LRP switch panel, ARB rear locker + compressor, Trigger 6 shooter electrical system
12 RRS SDV6 HSE (Hers) - Gone and replaced with an I Pace - I can tell you now EV is not the future yet
