Is it my vehicle, or is the IID not actually so good?
Hello all,
when I had my D2, I had a Nanocom and it was great. It worked REALLY well. I never had any for of problems with it, and it managed to reprogramme everything that I wanted to do. I never had any strange values coming up. All in all, I was REALLY happy with it.
When I bought my wife a L322, I was advised to get the IID Tool since the Nanocom cannot do much for the TD6 L322. This became a no-brainer when I replaced my D2 with a RRS, so I bought the IID Tool (Bluetooth) from Duckworths.
So far, I have to admit I am not all that impressed.
On my wife's L322, if I use the IID Tool in the dahboard mode (not using the APP on a phone), I get REALLY strange readings when I read the Live Values for the engine. FOr exemple, if I read the coolant temperature, it tells me the the coolant is at 389208°C. NOT BAD!!! My L322 is powered by the sun!!!
On my RRS, I had problems when I was adjusting the ride heights (after changing the shock absorbers). I did manage in the end to get it done, but it was certainly not as easy as it should have been, and it was NOT a case of running their "guided" adjustment program.
Then yesterday I had to replace the diesel particle filter on my D3. Replacing the D3 was easy, but I then had to tell the computer that I had replaced the filter. The IID Tool has this option, but every time I tried to do it, it would give me the error E4.
I ended up having to ask a friend (who owns a garage) if I could do it on his bosch computer. That did it with no problem, and on top of that, the bosch system can show MUCH more information about how the system is running than the IID Tool can. For exemple, the Bosch can show the status of the particle filter (expected life used), it can show (percentage) how much of the last regeneration succeeded (mine had only completed 41% of the last regeneration), it can force a regeneration etc.
Is this normal for the IID Tool? Does my one have a problem?
I would appreciate your comments, because almost everyone on here seems to rave about the IID, and so far I almost regret selling my Nanocom.

I contacted them about the L322 problem, and it was "a bug in their software", but it has never been resolved.
I contacted them about the suspension problem, and never got an solution because I dropped the case since I managed to adjust the suspension manually (i.e. not using their guided system).
For the particle filter, I sent them an e-mail, but since it is the weekend I have not had any answer. But again, the problem is resolved so it doesn't really matter what their answer will be.
I simply feel that for the moment the IID Tool has not actually done any more than what a tool such as the foxwell LR2 device, or an autel device could do.
I know that you will say that it can change the car settings, but this is not really something that I need.
What I need is a device that can read/clear error codes if they come up so that I can find out what is wrong.
I also need to be able to read the live data so that I can see if there is a problem, and even here it seems that the IID does not read all the live data that it is possible to read.

Calibrated the suspension on my D3 using the IID process no problem.
As for live values if you feel there is something lacking just speak to Gap, when I got mine, there were no live values for the V8, 24hrs or so after contacting them I had them.==================================
