When I power my camera with any USB cable longer than the included original, the DAB radio starts to lose signal even if the USB cable is hanging loose inside the cabin. Funny thing is that unplugging the USB from the cig lighter end doesn't help... but unplugging from the camera solves the DAB signal issue instantly!
It's as if the camera is using the USB cable as some sort of arial that effects the DAB radio. The camera's great but this is driving me nuts!

John Ov, I routed my cable down the drivers side pillar, it was a simple job then to run it behind the knee board and accross to the Aux socket feed. I used a length of straightened coat hanger to push it through. Just done my mates D3, same route, this time it only took 20 mins.

Great bit of kit - used it to record continuous in North Yorkshire and a friend used his at a sprint at Curborough last weekend (on a Caterham 7).
The screen is a big advantage as you can check what it's recording (view/angle etc).
Thanks for the tip! Andy C

Something to look out for with D4 owners, if you power this camera with a USB lead up to near the rear view mirror, you will lose a lot of signal strength on the DAB radio. Not sure why? Just means you often won't get DAB reception in places it previously worked. I've tested this in 2 D4's now as it still happens with the lead hanging loose down to the cig lighter sockets!
Shame... because the camera worked great.

Can you buy Sheilded USB leads, like you can for some other cables to prevent interference
Try fitting a choke to the lead I have one on my lead as I noticed it was affecting my tom tom sat nav getting a signal lock on for the sats, as soon as I fitted a useb lead with a choke it was ok, but not sure if it will work with a DAB signal...
