too chuffin' cold for me to check the D4 but the D1 I had had rubber bits that could be screwed in/out that the bonnet front corners sat on.

if you have them, try winding them out a bit so bonnet is pressing harder on them when shut.

Cheers Hardware ,I had 2 Discovery’s before this one. 200 tdi & 300 tdi. Miss them both. I’ll check the bonnet later when the baby is sleeping and I’m out walking the dog. Thumbs Up

Also try lifting each corner of the bonnet up - a seized bonnet catch is quite common but can be free'd by cleaning and WD40 Thumbs Up

Under each corner of the bonnet theres rubber stoppers that screw out to stop the vibration.
Make sure the bonnet still latches closed afterwards though otherwise you've done it to much.

It's odd that this has cropped up just as I have begun to notice a kind of hollow drumming noise on mine. Will try adjusting the bonnet stoppers also. Thumbs Up

Found the culprit at last Exclamation ...........Nothing to do with the bonnet on mine, it appears that the steel panel below my newly replaced aux belt tensioner, was not fully secured. In fact when I tried to tighten the front bolts I found that one of the weedy M6 captive nuts above had broken. Captive nuts and front bolts replaced with beefier ones (M8 suspension compressor type). Solid now, and no drumming noise. Smile
