my upper glove box (you thought it was something else didn't you) vibrates like mad when going over corrugations and drives me nuts. it vibrates in an up down motion not in out and the hinges appear to be reasonably tight, anyone else experience this.

I am terribly disappointed by the misleading subject name of this thread...
(and the only rattle I’ve been able to produce in the D3 so far was from my teeth - during a hill climb ) Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

My first Disco was like this too.......... I couldn't manage to fix it. The vent and surround is what appeared to cause the rattle in mine though. Check that out.
Second Disco is Top Notch!

Mines tight and no rattles.
Do you have to push the lid hard to get it to lock. I do otherwise it is still open.

PCH the glovebox shuts easily, might be something to tighten, will have another look.

Gidday catweasel. I solved the problem of my upper box lid vibrating on corrugations by simply opening it. The design of the spring return means that it will return to the almost closed position and viola - no more annoying vibration.
The only thing against this 'solution' is that articles may try to leave the aforesaid receptacle in a unanticipated manner due to not being restrained. To solve this new problem we put every last map into the lower box and drove in sheer comfort.
Back in Brisbane and relatively smooth bitumen roads I went to open the bonnet next day and simply pressed the open lid home (although it would have been difficult to even notice it was open).
HTH, Leigh - and I have only the hold down brackets to fabricate and I will have finished MY sliding floor!! LeighW

* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Mine moved around, I just found the noise was actually coming from the vent, is all.
I hope you can get it sorted out! I hate rattles and squeaks in cars!

GM did not intend to offend (if I did) but a jack hammer moves less. I am going over the same route this weekend and will try the open glovebox idea. I have the noise on video and if I ever get off my I will put on the net. failing a fix I will remove the f ing thing

I share your feeling of being let down TDMP.
However, whilst I do not have a "vibrating Box" of my own (well not since the court order!) could it be the inner for the box more than the lid/cover or a surrounding lip/bevel/seal to the dash? I have seen this beofe on other vehicles...

had a new frame which has the hinges in it installed on Friday and no more rattles at this stage but has not been thoroughly tested, so fingers crossed pity the lower glove box light no longer works
