Vibration

Hi all, ive got a vibration on my D3 that seems to come and go when it pleases, it did it tonight which was the first time in a few days. Ive had a new wheel bearing on the front, new discs and pads on the rear and a new epb modulator and shoes about 3 weeks ago. Anyone got any ideas as its going back in again next Tuesday.
cheers Rob

PS When the vibration starts, if you slow down for a mile or so it goes and its all back to normal.

Could be a tight universal joint on the side that had the wheel bearing replaced. I have a similar vibration and guess what.....Mine only appeared after replacing a n/s/f bearing, both front discs and pads. Haven't cured mine yet Crying or Very sad

Its been doing it on and off since before all other things have been changed. Looking on other forums it seems the parking brake may be slightly applied, had all that changed because it started screaming when you tried to release handbrake, maybe something needs adjusting.

When it next does it try stopping the car without using the breaks as much as possible and see if either of the rear wheels is warm/hot to touch.

Having exactly the same problem, usually happens to me on the motorway doing 70/80, slow down to 50/60 and it goes away... Nothing apparent caused mine though im told the steering rack needs replacing... Am hoping it will hold out 6 months so that I can bring it back to the UK for 10FORCASH (Ian) can do his magic.

I did notice the other day though that when I applied the hand brake i heard an almighty screech (frightened my sister to death as she was getting out of the rear o/side) and then parking break failures on the dash. Left it 5 mins and it released but presume the parking break is not linked in any way to normal driving/breaking and couldnt caus the vibration.

Yep, but carefully!! Have had disc glowing after 6 miles drive with binding on brake calliper! Not just rears, often difficult to tell where vibration is coming from, had front and rear replaced due to binding on. Sad

Theres still a squeel from the rear brakes that only goes away when you touch the pedal so theres something going on still, seems to be more noticable below 40 mph

It did it today, got out and checked all wheels and brake discs and they were all fairly cool except the rear right which was very hot.
