If you are just after using the rear camera on the move you can do this from the "secret" menu screen.2010MY Disco 4 HSE in Ipanema Sand over Almond.
It's got THE rear diff.

MY14 onwards you don’t even need to go into the ‘secret’ screen, it’s in the normal menu. I use it when I’m towing my camper trailer, I have a camera mounted on that which I can switch to display on the factory screen.
But I suspect that is not what the OP’s ‘friend’ is wanting to use it for MY14 TDV6

If you want rear camera you need the config changing (eg gap iid) to say camera fitted.

What Kelvo said! You do not need the hidden menu to view the rear view camera when on the move on a late D4. It is handy for checking a trailer etc but that is about it!
I might bite the bullet and purchase that Amazon gadget and see what it does (for my friend, obviosuly). It is slightly cheaper than the X Car Link version too.

A friend of mine had one on a D3 & D4 (may not have been the same make) and they worked as expected.
If you went in to the screen which showed the 4 wheels/suspension height it always indicated the car was in "P" so fooling the car in thinking to being stationary............... I believe.

Try tapping twice on the centre screen in quick succession, should take you straight to a black screen with the camera icon, press the icon and you should have the rear view camera.
