I am going to be in Holland for 10 days in August for a holiday and to visit family. Are there any good places to have fun in the Disco. As far as I know there are no green lanes in Holland .
I'll be near Valkenswaard and Utrecht.

Hi Countrywide,
There is actually an official offroad terrain in Veldhoven (very near) but it's not open for public use, only limited opening hours. You'd have to call them.
http://www.terreinrijden.nl/database_terreininformatie.asp?ID=31
Something that also looks very promising is here
http://www.experience-island.nl/index.php?...Itemid=105
Not too far from Valkenswaard. I don't see anything mentioned about private use, they entertain whole companies. Use 'on your own' is not ruled out on the site but also not mentioned as possibility.
Last one is in Belgium, a bit farther:
http://www.terreinrijden.nl/database_terreininformatie.asp?ID=40
Status of this is a bit questionable, they mention that it has been closed, re-opened, but current status unknown.
There is an offroad event on 29/30 august in Bertrix, Belgium. It's called the Liebrechts Challenge. It's quite a drive from Valkenswaard but this is the real offroad thing. Lots of extreme offroading with specially prepared cars. You're not going to be able to compete and actually, you don't want to with your D3 either unless you don't mind it getting dented and striped. Very spectacular though!
Generally it is my opinion that apart from organised events, there are not real greenlaning/offroad possibilities in our country. Hills are limited to bridges and dikes. We do have mud though and laws too that will forbid just about anything fun.
If you find more, please share on here!
Have a good time in the low lands.

The only open for public free off-road terrain is as far as I know near the Rotterdam harbour De Maasvlakte.
But I disagree that there are no greenlanes in The Netherlands.
Look here:
http://www.camel-trophy.nl/archief/2009/20...rsrit.html
and
http://www.camel-trophy.nl/archief/2008/200802_zondagsrit.html
This PDF file shows you a GPS track off a route I drove a while ago with my camel. The route is for more then 70% off road and driven In the wet season I would not do it in my G4.
It was a circular route for a night drive but we spent all night on this part and didn't have time to finish the rest.

Roel,
I'll have to change my comment in 'not many' then...
Impressive trail in Belgium!
@Countrywide; Rotterdam Maasvlakte will be 1-1,5 hrs drive from Valkenswaard depending on traffic.

Apparently my cousins say there is a place they go to, but I am not sure where. I'll get the details and see if anybody wants to meet up.
If there is anything you would like bought over to Holland from TLO (member on here) at Yeovil, let me know. He offers a great discount on all Land Rover parts and accessories

Hi Countrywide,
nice of you to think about carrying goodies from TLO.
I'm still thinking about 2 or 3 items but all so small the postage would be 6 or 7 pounds. Wouldn't want to bother you with that.
I would like to hear about the please your cousins go
