W Wales/Fishguard Pembrokeshire - any trip advice?

Am looking to stay just to the NE of Fishguard with the family. Autumnal weather probably not going to be great. Just wondered if anyone who knows the area would be prepared to offer advice on any must see things/pubs/walks, etc.

All advice gratefully received.

Thumbs Up

Thanks.

If you are lucky enough to get any sunshine Barafundle Bay is regular voted as one of the top 10 beaches in the World. Pleasant coastal path walk even if not bikini weather!

Get a wet suit on and get in the surf! If you are a bit brave my son and I did coasteering with TYF at St Davids and can be done from age 8 up. Diving in the toilet is not to be missed.

A trip to see the baby seals at Marloes is great if you don't mind peering over cliffs.

Not sure how old the family is, but my kids (7 &12) like Manor Park Zoo near Tenby and Folly Farm (great indoor 1950s fun fair) a bit of a drive but worth doing. The whole area is great for outdoor activities, think Cornwall without the crowds and much much cheaper.

We have stayed in Pembrokeshire at least twice a year for the last 15 years ... Newport is probably the best village environment and base north of Fishguard and has some of the best restaurants and pubs. It provides easy access to the coast and back inland over the hills. Can't recommend it enough.

Guys,

Thanks a lot for the recommendations. Really useful. The nippers are, well, nippers (.75 and 2.75 yrs!) But we'll definitely follow up on these.

I'll second that, also the Blue Lagoon is great fun for the kids. Sandersfoot & Amroth are great. A few miles inland, (near Folly Farm) Narbeth is a great little town and has some cool shops. Also try the butchers there in the High Street,
