Australia 2011 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE Auto Alaska WhiteDiscovery 4

I have Drivesafe's SC80 (with a LR mod) with an optima yellow top. I have a direct line from the Aux battery to the rear for a Waeco CF-50. Also another direct line to Anderson plugs to charge my camper battery. Used it recently for a month long trip from Sunshine Coast to Broome and back. Waeco CF-50 was running in the back of the car for the entire trip. All batteries were kept charged and had no problems at all.

Have noticed slight interference when FM Signal is getting weak when running the Waeco. Normally when you would start to look for another station when travelling anyway.

My comment is regarding the frig models. I have a 40 litre Engel and in a moment of madness decided to buy another frig. This time I purchased a Waeco. Talking to other Offroaders, if you have the few extra dollars get an Engel.

sijui,

I have an odyssey 1200mjt linked up via a tjm controller.

As soon as drivesafe has his controller developed, I'll at least replace the tjm one with his. I'll see what his battery is too. The Odyssey is very good, but it's only 44AH and I'd like something wioth a bigger capacity if possible. But there's not a lot of space under the aux battery cover.

I think that one of the big problems that drivesafe came up with was that the starting battery is lead calcium and the charging setup of the D3 will reduce the life of any other type.

My car has not indicated any problems with having the aux battery connected, like was thought may happen. It's been there for about 30,000km now.

Hi Jamo,
Could I please get a pic. of your aux batt. set up? I'm trying to find space under the bonnet for #2 batt. I already have a Pannasonic Industrial, deep cycle batt (acquired from work, at the right price, legally) that is 7mm too wide for space behind L.H.S. headlight.
Thanks Mate & Rgards
David.
Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.
