Wales. Bucket list Ticked video link |
|
Hi,
Just got back from 12 days in "Sunny" North Wales (well, first couple of days it rained)
Great CL near Corwen, only the 3 of us on all the week, our RRS, friends recent purchase D3 and a 25 year old 90 which still drew the most attention
turned out two other CC members had booked the bank holiday weekend but never turned up and no phone calls to advise the owner
At least we did not have to watch the noise after 23:00 while sat in the awning setting the world to rights.
Also decided Port from the fridge (Optima10) is not our tipple
But
one of the main reasons for going to the area was one of our Bucket List events, SWMBO wanted to have a go on a Zip Wire, so may as well choose a Fast, High and Long one
Here is a link to our 1min 20sec zipworld Velocity ride , we are the last two on the left walking to the start of the Zip, swmbo had gone VERY quiet by now as it looks a long way down.
pause at 51 sec mark and you can spot the landing point as a dark patch in the trees at the top left corner above the lake.
We were both smiling at the end of the Zip which is what really counts

We were supposed to be up there the weekend before last but the Zip company cancelled it due to high winds.
They've given us another year to re-book which is pretty decent. We had booked onto Fron Campsite on Anglesey.
What site did you stay on?

Wow looks great Shame about not being able to do it in high winds as I'm sure that would add another dimension lol

Did it a couple of years back and really enjoyed it. Hope to go back for another go, and also to try the trampolines inside the mine, that has now opened.

Hi,
we would both recommend giving it a go
We were keeping a check every day on the Ride Status as a couple of days had been cancelled or weight restrictions added had read through the small print a few times as it seems you can get a refund if you email within 14 days or option to rebook for a year after.
We had a still day for the ride but still got a bit of sideways action going over the lake
£60 each and does take about two hours getting kitted out and moved around the site ect.
Would recommend the CL as well as, it is well laid out, quiet, good views watched a pair of Red Kites that must have been nesting very near and heard the rumours and folk lore of all the Sea Trout and Salmon in the river (I caught 3 small brown trout) only about 1km to the village of Llandrillo which has a good pub for food with dogs welcome.

We all went to do that but I was over the weight limit!
Apparently they can put a parachute on you if you're borderline but they said they didn't have enough parachutes for me. If you aren't living life on the edge, you're taking up too much space!!
