Walnt dash trim

Has anybody ordered this from LR? I love the look of it, but it's about £400 supplied and fitted!!! (For that money I'd want diamond encrusted gold dashboard trim!)

I've seen companies advertising wood trim on eBay (loads of bits, not just the 3 panels that LR supply) - has anyone bought from these people, and what's the quality like?

If you are looking for better quality fake wood, use a company that uses hydrographic lamination over the original trim parts. The process makes it look "factory." No cheesy stick on parts. For example:

I'm sure some eBay vendors just resell those bits, or other similar ones. Maybe you have a shop that can do this process locally. They normally have numerous types of lamination you can have put on.

I (personally) can't stand fake wood inside my cars (especially a workhorse like my LR3)... But such is personal taste...

Try calling 01751 471880. This is the number of a Land Rover dealership in Yorkshire. A couple of weeks ago, they had some kits in stock. They were selling them for roughly £150 on Ebay. The kit is easily fitted using thin strips of double sided tape. The kit includes alcohol wipes to clean the surfaces prior to fitting. I understand that the kit is no longer available from Land Rover.
I have the wood kit and like you I think it looks good.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
I ordered the walnut dash with my D3 from new, I prefer original parts. I know they cost more but they are a perfect fit and thats what I like. They finish the dash off quite nice so they are worth the money if you ask me. Very Happy

Just to clear it up... The lamination process I mentioned earlier uses the real actual parts of the vehicle. So, it's even more factory than the Land Rover OEM wood add-ons.

I've ordered the walnut for my new HSE which I pick up this Friday (yey)
Only seen it on the black interior and it looked ok, I've gone for Alpaca and think it should look even better against a lighter interior..

Will let you know when I've picked it up - oh and yes it's very expensive for what you get, just 3 bloody pieces but what the hell...
