[Wanted] Door Glass Release Lever 501-114

I'm trying to buy a door glass release lever 501-114, for unclipping the glass from the motor assembly. I can't find one anywhere. Unless anyone knows of another way.

Carefully take off the lower door rubber at the bottom of the window but don’t forget the little torx screw at the end which you access by opening the door…

Make sure the window is up and then tape the glass to the doorframe (up and over the frame to hold the window in place taping it both sides).
Then just slide down a piece of plastic from the outside down against the window into the white clip that is visible. This will prise open the clip so that the plastic pin that slots in the hole in the glass becomes free..

Then carefully power the window down and the mechanism will power down hopefully leaving the glass in place…

To refit the clip later just power the motor back up and the clip will just spring back in! Smile

You can do it by hand. Just don't forget the front windows have two clips to release. I fought my front window for an hour before I remembered!

The pins pull out from the direction of the outer door skin. You will need tiny hands to get your arms in the door void and under and up to reach the clips…..but your hands need to be door skin side to release the clips…
It will become apparent when you get the window out! Shocked

Which is why I went from above with a strip of plastic and slid them into the clips….

All good tips there. Thanks for the heads-up. I like the tip about winding it up to clip it back - thanks!

Thanks, it's exactly what I'm looking for - Order placed. My hands will be far too big to slip behind the glass, that's why I'd rather get the tool.

Thanks to all for the quick replies - Parts ordered, tool ordered. Tool costs more than the parts.
All the best!

No “special” tool needed! A 12” steel or wood ruler or something similar will do, don’t wind the window fully up, about 4 inches from the top is best, don’t power down, let the car “sleep” (no lights on dash), from outside hold the glass with one hand and undo the clips with the other the glass will then lift out and give you more room if you are working on the door internals Thumbs Up .
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
