[Wanted] Old Hitachi air Compressor (with good piston)

Morning all,

Wondering if any of you may have your old genuine Hitachi air Compressor after upgrading to AMK or simply replacing for new.

Reason I ask, is I'm in desperate need of a piston and barrel in usable condition. My Compressors operation was fine electrically, but to my delight yesterday the main bearing failed in the connecting rod, making a bit of a mess in the crank case.

I'm hoping someone has a Compressor with a duff motor, or sheered off bolts of some sort that I could use for bits, or possibly if someone would be prepared to send me the barrel and piston/connecting rod only, I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance

Roger

No piston though..
If I could get a aluminum con rod replacement back when mine broke I would be still running on the original compressor..

Hi thanks for your reply, I haven't found any kits that supply pistons and cylinders, unless I'm looking in the wrong place?

I think I've got a barrel and piston somewhere(!) in the garage if you're still looking for one.

If it's there you can have it for the postage & packing and a donation to H4H.
 I see no ships........

Thanks for your help chaps,

Ive been down the shed to finish stripping the compressor and the 17mm ally bolt in the head sheered off. So I think that the last straw, Im going to get a replacement, and go for the Dunlop I think, I haven't got deep enough pockets to go for the genuine hitachi unit, but I don't believe in buying the cheaper far eastern copies which really are a waste of money in my opinion.

Thanks to all who have helped Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Roger
