[Wanted] Passanger Front Door Orkney Grey :(
Hi all, had the dreaded call from the wife while at work..
Pulled out from a space not remembering that there was a trolley barrier next to her.. luckily has just creased the door in and pulled the trim off the bottom, but the door is a no go..
I have found one at a breakers for £140 (which I think is a good price?), but thought I'd try here first..
I did find one nearby, but was black and quote for painting was ridiculous..
Don't really want to involve the insurance company..

Morning Just to follow up..
The door I found on BeBay turned out to be a bargin..
It was a breakers yard called BMS breakers in south Yorkshire, but I nearly dropped a ..
It was on for £140, which I thought already was a great price for a complete door minus the mirror and door card .
but the listing had 'make an offer' usually I see this as a sign that they are willing to accept an offer, so I started cheeky at £120 - rejected.. I thought fair enough £130 - rejected!
I moaned to my wife saying, why would you have make an offer if you weren't willing to accept any??!!
So when I called on Friday, he explained the first rejection, he had put a message sayig if I came to collect today I can have it for £100
So he said when I get there, we'll sort out Ebay and I can have it for £100
I think I got a great deal for a near perfect condition Disco door in the same colour as mine (6 months older according to the date on the wiring loom).
would definitely recommend! he had a few disco items, full front end of a D4, mirros etc. but give him a call, don't just buy on EGay.

As far as replacing the door goes, it was pretty straight forward, although wouldn't recommend it for a complete amateur.
Stripped out the door card, removed the mirror, check strap and key lock (as this is obviously for my key)
the new door had wiring harness, window, lock mechanism etc all still fitted.. so I was pretty lucky. however, my wiring harness had a different part number and an extra plug at the door connection so I'm not sure what mine had that this other one didn't, I didn't bother checking, I just swapped the harness over, the hardest part of that was disconnecting the plug from the door lock..
luckily I had a horse mounting block, which was exactly the right height to rest the door on while I connected the harness and fitted a couple of loose bolts to the hinge, my wife just held it up right while I got them started, they plug is a bit fiddley and a pain to remove from the bulkhead.
The door is REALLY heavy, a lot more so than I expected.
rebuilt the internals before is pi55ed down and all was good, needed a slight adjustment once fitted, but apart from that, looks good as new!
I gave it a quick clean and polish and now you wouldn't notice the difference. all for £100 and a couple of hours of my time (priceless).
Also, now I have a spare locking mechanism, window with regulator, door handle and a wiring harness, which I might list on here for free, cheap, if it's of use to anyone.. I'll get he part number later
I'll put on a before and after pic later Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black
Disco4 MY12 SDV6 XS Orkney Grey (Gone)
