now the rear door has the weight of the ladder on it the shocks are struggling a little bit (think they were a bit passed it anyway)
Have others fitted uprated shocks the boot door to help it cope? if so, any advice?
many thanks

what does this lot mean?!

I presume the 480N is the force this one exerts so I need to uprate that a significant amount.
do the rest of those numbers give a spec reference?formerly Disco3Ben

just for future ref for others that may search for similar.
then they have suggested they will uprate them by 20%. all in was about £37 delivered for the pair and will be here tomorrow.
if there isn't enough pressure in the struts to cope with the ladder then they will top them up further for free, I'd just need to cover the postage.
I think that the extra 20% on top of them being new should do the job nicely - we shall see!!formerly Disco3Ben

Just FYI - I got new struts from SGS late last year and the first time I opened the trunk almost got hit in the chin by the upper tailgate.

I got sgs struts after fitting the prospeed ladder. The first lot they sent were normal replacement which the guy told me would be enough, but they weren't, they did uprate them by about 20nm and now they work fine. In fact I tend to hold on when opening as it flings open at a vast rate

Great service from SGS - struts arrived next day and easy to fit.
