[Wanted] Rotary gear selector switch.
Rotary gear selector switch, one that has failed regarding the illumination, a common fault it appears.
I have a good friend who is an electronic wizard so thought it might be worth him taking a look to see if it can be easily fixed rather than fitting a replacement at vast expense.
These I believe are then thrown in the scrap bin when they fail as nothing can be done with them.

I think the rotary gear selection control was introduced in 2012 for the 8 speed gearbox and continued to end of production for D4 around 2016 / 17 so anything between those dates really.

It did but there are two mate about 2016 they had the eco bit with adblue tanks
The gear selector is the same from 2012-2016. The failures started happening around 2014-5.
It's a transistor inside the unit that can't cope with the power needed to drive the location illumination LEDs.
The ECO stop/start switch is part of the Terrain Response assembly, not the gear selector.1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

I didn't realise there was a difference so it looks like I need a pre ad blue selector.
