Hi, This is my first post - so apologoes if I ask any stupid questions.
Last night I was driving around in my new (used) disco 3 when I noticed that there were a couple of warning lights showing.
One for for the airbags -
and the second was for the seatbelt - I was the only one in the car and I had my seatbelt done up, but this light appeared to flicker on and off, made worse when I was braking.
I stopped the car, removed the key, got and locked it, and then got back in both lights had disappeared - only to come on a few minutes later.
This morning when I drove it to work neither light appeared.
Can anyone recognise this pattern? Do I need to seek professional guidance etc.
Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like you may have a chaffed wire under the seat .. Check all connections under the seat especially the seat belt pre tensioner G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks - I will get it checked out - the seatbelt warning is still going off - it is worse when someone is sitting on the seat. The contant bong is about ot drive me insane - I've got a warranty so shouldnt be a problem.

You can switch the sound off by pushing the seat belt 10 times quickly in the fastener. Roel

Had this checked out and it appears to a malfunctioning crash sensor. Now I lose the wagon for a couple of days.
Does this sort of thing happen often?

not wishing to panic you, do you know the FULL history of the vehicle, ie had your own hpi check done, seems alittle unusual to have that problem unless the vehicle has been involved in a bump!

I got it as approved from a LR dealer. With a LR approved extended warranty etc so am fairly sure that its OK.
Never say never though.

As Wiggs said, it could be a problem with the wiring under the seats - this could explain both the SRS warning lights and the seat base pressure switch. If you cannot see any chafed wires, double check that all of the connectors are fully seated as they can come a bit loose causing intermittent faults.
Remember that the SRS warning light could indicate a fault with any of the SRS systems/components (not just the drivers airbag) - airbags, seat switches, seatbelt pre-tensors, seat position sensor (if fitted) impact sensors etc etc....
There is another possibility - maybe you have a fault with the clock spring behind the steering wheel - this would cause an SRS fault due to communication errrors with the drivers airbag (fairly common fault)....you may also have a faulty seat base switch (not so common, but not unknown).
Or a combination of any of the above
PS. The seatbelt in-out-shake-it-all-about trick will only disable the "you ain't got yer seatbelt on" bong - it won't stop a fault generating an audible error. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

The seatbelt pre-tensioner was the offending article apparently....
