A low battery message doesn't usually appear on the satnav screen. Generally it'll pop up on the display in front of the driver. But it is true that a low battery charge can generate some seemingly random symptoms with the D4 (LR4). So it's no bad thing to check anyway.

It could be that general warning message about using sat nav on the move and distractions etc. Usually I think you have to tap the OK or accept on the screen but I could be wrong on that.

Low Battery has popped up on the Sat Nav screen on both the MY13 and MY16 D4’s, you do have to be quick, blink it’s gone.then the Sat Nav Safety Warning comes up, or sometimes I might get Sat Nav initialising if I touch it before it’s fully booted up.
