Warranty Direct Luxury care....
Just got off the phone to WD. My car is now coming up to 4 years old at the end of March. It's covered 72k miles.
I had Luxury Care care for past 12 months, with one claim for lower front wishbones. I was expecting to be lowered down to Extra care because of my mileage.
With betterment removed and 100% parts cost, £200 per hour labour rate, I have been quoted £785 for another year of Luxury care.
After all the bad news with snapped cranks etc, it allows me to confidently drive the car and enjoy it.

I had a fair bit of work done on my D4 the year after my LR warranty expired (one year warranty as car was 5 years old when I got it). Premium didn't change at renewal.
I'm now looking at WD to give cover to my wife's Evoque as it's coming to the end of the LR three year warranty. The cover is better and it's cheaper, and I've had no issues with WD paying out, even for wear-and-tear items.

i was interested to know what happened when you renew.
I took out my WD policy last year which was the Extra Care level. I think the cut off was 62K which i was under at the time. Im not on about 70 something K and outside the Extra Care level.
Is it likely i will be offered Extra Care again, or will i be dropped onto a lower level?
Anyone have any experience of what happens when the mileage/age increases and you renew on a yearly basis?

Phone and say you want Extra Care then haggle hard. I had that up to 100+k miles on the D3. I think the mileage limit is if you're coming to them as a new customer.

Well I took Dels original advice and phoned them before they issued me with a renewal demand.
I wanted to stay on luxury care, and really told them that I would be reconsidering all my options if my level of care was to be reduced. So they have offered me Lux care despite the over mileage situation. Its good customer retention on their part, because whilst there is a computer working out stuff for them, the operator is allowed to use common sense and has certain overriding powers.
Del, I intend to keep my D4 for at least another year, probably for as long as i can get decent warranty. (Or something better comes along!)
I have to be honest, I am rocked by the crank issues, and the company's handling of it. I seriously considered getting out of it this month.

If you want to keep it longer term try and get a 3 year deal, plus any extras (hifi/satnav, airbags and emissions, etc) are at a discounted rate. Assuming they apply to the heady heights of LuxCare. Then you have it for 3 years and it's an asset to help sell it if you don't keep it for that long. As soon as I knew I was buying the D4 from my folks I was straight oh the phone to sort out a 3 year deal, with all whistles and bells.

Yes good point. As its transferable it makes sense. Let's see what they say.
One thing is that my annual mileage is limited to 15k which I suppose makes a difference. It's not a problem for me, as I'm not doing 30-40k per year like I used to. This year the car has actually only done 13k.

I asked re limit and they upped it to 25k/year from 15k foc.
