washer fluid warning

Ok this seems strange, pretty sure that I should get a warning on my D4 HSE when fluid is low, I have seen it before on my car. However had too fill up at the weekend and got no warning? Would this be the case where say SWMBO has ignored the level warning and its gone right down to the bottom ? Or do I have a fault ?? Not sure its that important in grand scheme of things Smile

I had that issue on my MY16 D4 which was sorted under warranty. It turned out to be a faulty level sensor on the washer bottle Thumbs Up

It might be just 'gummy' in the bottle, and lime sometimes tops the level moving properly.. Try adding a few capfuls of Milton and see.
It'll get rid of anything growing in there , and helps stop block jets too.

Oh interesting, had blocked jets last year ! Took them off and cleaned them in hot soapy water.

I have just had that. my warning stopped coming up and then after a service it started working again.

can only assume somehow they have knocked the bottle freeing up the float or moved a wire letting it work again.

I know it was a common issue on the D3 a new washer bottle usually cured it. easy enough to change even for somebody like me

Did using Milton's solve the sensor issue?

My warning light has come on - the washer reservoir is full.

Thanks

Hahaha I hear you. Kinda first world problem with regards to Land Rover ownership. Would be nice not to have a warning light on the dash, but like you say, if that’s all that’s broken maybe I should be thankful

Just been reminded of an earlier occurance regarding this. In the early days of having the D4 I spotted an error light as we turned into a long tight bend on the slip road to join a motorway near us. It went off again after we rounded the bend. Eventually tracked it down to the washer fluid warning. It was just the turning force moving the liquid away from the sensor when it was low.
