Water in Front Passenger Footwell - Disco 4 2015 SDV 6 HSE

Good morning all, please can someone help with this problem.
I have water that collects in my front passenger footwell. This does not seem to happen during rain, but only when I wash the car. Admittedly, the water pressure would be higher during a car wash than a rain storm. This did not happen with my Disco 3. Where is this coming from? Is this a fault, or does this just happen with Disco 4's?

I would appreciate any input on the topic that someone may have.

Many thanks,
ChrisDW.

Check the sunroof drains first. Search on here there is loads of info. Pour water SLOWLY in to the trough at the very front of the sunroof when’s its open(just under the wind guard that pop up). The water should run out near the front mudflaps. There are very small holes in each corner of the trough and these or the tubes from them get blocked. If it does not clear and fills up that’s certainly the issue. Don't go mad with the water though as if they are blocked you can soon overflow it and add to the problem. There are similar holes at the back of the sunroof tray but to test these you will need to face the car uphill and repeat.

Thumbs Up

Then there’s holes behind the A pillar trims that the sticker/cover bits fall off. And bad door seals.

As stated lots of info on here regarding this symptom and various fixes.
If the water doesn’t run through the sunroof drain, you can try some strimmer cord down it.
Is the headlining damp/stained at all?
I’ve heard about water ingress through the windscreen edges/fixing so if your drains check out ok that’s worth looking into too.
If sunroof drain is an issue, it would be useful for us to know if your car is left or right hand drive to be able to assist further.
Good luck. Keep us posted on progress and findings.
Cheers
 Gary

Check it's not the scuttle (bit at the bottom of the windscreen) lifting. When it does it allows water under it instead of over it. The water runs down and into the air con external air feed that's under the scuttle. It then comes down and through the air motor, through the cabin filter and leaks back behind the carpet and then under it. It's easily fixed with a plastic deflector to stop the water running down and into the air intake. Search harder here for photos etc. This was my issue and easily resolved.
