Water Stains on Privacy Glass
I have water stains on the privacyglass on my disco 4 that i cannot get rid of. Ive tried a window leather as normal, the glass cleaner that came with the car, autoglym glass cleaner and finally white vinegar. Anybody else have any ideas, as it makes the car look a mess!
Is this inside our outside? What was in the water?
Have you tried methylated spirit?A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

The water marks are on the outside. The only thing that was in the water is the landrover wash n wax as per destructions. I havnt tried tried meths.
In the destructions - is there not some comment about not letting it dry on the vehicle, and how to remove marks if you do?A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. autoglym glass cleaner.....
Would that be Autoglym Fast Glass? don't find that much cop for really clean glass.
I use Autoglym Car Glass Polish on the privacy windows in our caravan and that seems to remove stains on that.
The other thing that works with aluminium stains on the caravan privacy windows is 'Muc-Off' caravan cleaner which removes aluminium staining from the body panels.
Note that caravan windows are Polycarb not glass though.2015 D4 HSE in Corris Grey

Yes it is the fast glass. I dont normally have a problem with it but it is the first car ive had with privacy glass. Might try the glass polish as like you say caravan windows are polycarb, but having said that i do have some fenwicks caravan cleaner, which may work neat.

Have you tried lemon juice? If it's chalky white stuff which is staining then it's probably scale from the water. Citrix cleaner will remove this or just cut a lemon in half and rub that over the glass.

Glass
Hi
For Gods sake dont use anything other than a clear window cleaner on the inside as your privacy glass is a tint put on at the factory or your dealer and is a plastic tint any cream cleaners will damage this and the only way to fix it is to renew the film
If its on the outside then a cream cleaner with a very fine wire wool followed up with a rotary buffer with some compounding agent on and give the glass a good polish.
If this dosent work see if you can get your hands on some jewellers rouge
regards

Thanks Guys for all the help. I have lots of things to try but might have to wait until it stops persisting it down though. Will let you know the outcome.

Wrong, factory privacy glass is tinted glass, whereas aftermarket is a film applied to the inside of the original glass to give the tinted effect.1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

As Jeweller's Rouge has become very difficult to obtain it's worth mentioning that traditional lip-stick is a good substitute. Can be purchased easily and without embarrassment in week before either Mother's day or Christmas.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. I had this after washing the car in very hot sunshine. Where the water got trapped in the spoiler and ran down the window it literally baked onto the glass. I tried everything to get it off progressively getting tougher and in the end a non-scratch scouring pad with methylated spirits got it off! I've put water repellent on the glass now which should stop it happening again plus I'm extra careful.

This is pretty much what happened to me. Guess what im going to be buying tomorrow ?!
You wouldnt think that water could cause so much of a mess. The manufacturers should surely be able to overcome this.
Thanks again to all for the suggestions. I need to sort before the week-end as i go on my hols. Cant have my motor looking anything other than pristine!
