Weak windscreen washer jets
Haven't been able to find a thread on this particular problem...
My windscreen washer jets seem to be getting weaker. Each one seems to trickle out a very faint stream of water which barely reaches the top of the windscreen with any might. They also don't appear to be shooting out of both nozzles - just one on each jet. So in total I got two measly streaks of water.
The headlamp jets and rear window jets seem to be working as normal.
Is there a central pump or should buying a set of new LR049290 washer jets do the trick?

It may be the jet's need a clean with an airline or a pin as they may be blocked or the line may need cleaning Discovery 3 se gone

The windscreen washers have their own pump. Check that the nozzles are not blocked by inserting a needle or straightened paper clip, then check that you do not have a kink in the feed pipe.

you can also remove the small pump from the tank.
Then remove the grommet from tank and clean the filter in the grommet.

hi - i'm struggling for too long now with my windscreen washers ... replaced the front/headlamp pump, the nozzles, the valves, but it's still with barely any fluid coming out. i'm now of the opinion that there is a kink somewhere in the feed pipe to the windscreen, but it seems that the water pipe runs in the same loom as the electrical wires. it's hard to think that the kink would be somehow in the loom, but i also don't see it anywhere else.
the rear window washer - which i know has it's own pump and line - works absolutely as expected.
i see a number of comments on cleaning plugged up parts, all of which i have done - but do not seem to find anyone commenting on a kinked pipe. i would be grateful if any experience can be shared please.

Know when I upgraded my d3 windscreen washer to heated d4 ones I disconnected the pipes both ends from the washer bottle and at the windscreen area and put an air line through it
Full of junk and sorted it out , those none return valves can also block up
Sorry that’s not much help but others can recommend the fan pattern jets for u

These are what I fitted. Had to make wedge shims up to hit the windscreen and lost the heater elements.
They work way better than the originals but could be better.

yeah - i don't have an air supply so tried to do the same with the bicycle pump and the beach ball nozzle. there is definitely much more resistance in the water line than i feel there should be. the bicycle pump does go up to 60psi and let's air through but not enough "volume flow" to push through what might be there. at my wits end

Have u tried it by pulling the NRV’s under the bonnet off plse to see if the pipe is clear
Then blowing through each non return valve to ensure there also clear as when I done mine they had junk inside
Along with ensuring the jets are clear, I just got some spare hose to attach it, or other way to use a nozzle fitting on the end of ur hand pipe
Hope that helps

thanks for the pointers. played with the vehicle today once again ... it does all point to a pinch / kink somewhere in the feed-pipe/water-line to the windscreen ... i bypassed it with a hose and everything worked like magic ... so at least i know where the culprit sits.
any suggestions for where the factory hose runs? it goes into a wiring loom pretty soon above the windscreen pump and i lose sight of it until it comes out at the corner of the bonnet. i suspect most of it goes behind the fender / wheel arch. might need to accept the bypass solution as the permanent one
