Webasto aux heater smoking all the time
My webasto aux heater is smoking all the time along with toxic diesel smell like unburnt diesel
I just had both manifolds replaced due to sudden unforeseen failure warranty company is arguing it is not
Are these connected

No, the FBH is very likely clogged with unburnt diesel residues due to short journeys in cold weather, and where it hasn't had a long enough burn time to clear itself.
If you don't have Webasto diagnostics to help sort it, you could try starting the car from cold once the temp is below 8°c. This should command the heater to start and run until the coolant reaches 72°c or thereabouts.
By which time the FBH should have burned off any residues. Lots of smoke is normal for these if they have not been running for a long enough period.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Check it's not dripping fuel out of the exhaust, if so pull the fuse/disconnect a plug to it to stop it running (fire risk).06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Is it normal with this issue to have so much smoke and toxic fumes
I’ve been going up and down motorways at 2 degrees but when I stop the car bellows smoke

If I pull the fuse out will it stop it working and if so which fuse do you know

OK something very wrong there so as it seems to be continuing to burn even after a motorway run. As Martin says pull the fuse (number 28 I think) but it will be on the inside of the fuse box cover beside the battery.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Get it looked at by a LR specialist. It might be a coolant issue (air lock) or faulty temp sensors in the burner. I can't recall what else if anything is on that fuse circuit, but you can always pull the wiring plug from the side of the heater if you need to replace that fuse.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Great thanks all for your help it was working when it went in to get the manifolds replaced but smoked since and leaked diesel out of the aux heater exhaust which again didn’t occur before

I’ve pulled 28 and the fuse box only states it’s for the aux heater

Are you saying when the engine was switched off was the burner continuing to run? Or was it just that it was smoking constantly?yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
