Webasto FHB not starting

Well I've spent the last few days trying to sort out my D3 FHB. Big Cry

Every time I try to start if from the WTT software it gets to the stage where its ramping up the fuel pump and it then suddenly cuts the pump and the blower, giving an 02h error code.

I tried the trick of adding an additional air source (blow up bed inflator) which does allow it to start fully and it'll run perfectly.

I've also tried different CO2 settings to increase the fan speed (I'm assuming the unit is running too rich on start up), but that hasn't worked.

I've measured the flow from the fuel pump and that seems to be fine.

It's also been stripped and had the combustion chamber cleaned out.

For some reason whatever I do it won't start without the additional blower.

I've also ran the internal blower/fan and that seems to be running fine.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Did you replace the glow plug gauze?
If all else fails stick a 2nd hand machine in it.

So if it fires up when you have air flowing through then either

Blocked up burn chamber
Internal fan blades or bearing
Low voltage

I’m the WTT software when yo7 get it running properly with the blower, you can adjust the co2 level. Only adjust it a tiny amount and that may be enough for it to fire up without assistance.

Managed to get it starting up on its own today, but the C02 setting it needed, had the fan running at 100%, which I can't see being a good thing for it long term.

Does anyone know if there's a guide on removing the gause. I wasn't sure it was possible to get it out, it looks like a sealed unit.

Looking at YouTube, quite a few people have stripped the top of the burner and cleaned out the ceramic head, so I think that might be my next step.

If that doesn't cure it it may be time to admit defeat and buy a used one.

Well today I stripped down the burner and found that there was a lot of black crud stuck to the sides of the ceramic head. Most of it came off with a screwdriver and a bit of wet n dry.

Got it all back together and refitted. It’s now seems to be running perfectly, back at its original 8F CO2 default setting.
