Webasto HELP

Hi all,

A friend of mine has bought a Disco 3 with a Webasto fitted to the FBH, he has all the box and instructions but neither of us can work out how to get started and what the process it to get access.

Wiring/tech isn’t my strong point and just generally struggling getting it set up/figuring out how to use it.

And hints/tips?

Cheers all Smile

A picture of this control box would help.

The factory fitted units only come on automatically when the engine is started below 5°C, to help heat the engine to make it efficient

There are many after market remote options.

I like to help, like Pete k, but I read so many un clarities...
“A Webasto fitted to the FBH” ? The FBH = a webasto...that is a brand.... so “what” is fitted to it?
“Box” (& instructions)? & get access? To what?

Explanation : like Pete K said, the webasto FBH fitted as standard in a D3 diesel, is “just” an auxiliary heater.... To help your engine getting warm.... because it can not do it itself sufficiently below 7 degrees Celsius..

A lot of people are thinking, that if you fit a remote or other starting device, they get a Full parking heater.. No... they don’t it is still a auxiliary heater, which can be started with a remote and if, warms the engine.... NOT the cabin..

If you want to warm the cabin, then there is a second unit needed, also a box...To be connected to the air con/blower/controls..

AND there is a possibility to reset a Webasto FBH unit, with a “device” sometimes also box shaped..

So, now again the question, what kind of “box” does he have, to do what exactly? What are his intentions to do with it..?
 Best regards
Harold

To be fair though. If your run the heater for 10 mins once you start the engine the heater is nice and warm
