webasto issue

Hi

I just bought a 2007 HSE PP and I see in my motor that I have a webasto. The only problem is that I see the heater, but I dont know where else I can find anything related to the webasto inside the car. Are these heaters standard or inserted after it was bought? Where do I find anything inside the car related to the heater?

Simple answer is that you dont! the system is fully automatic, and it is only used to assist the engine to warm up in cool conditions. If the air temp is below 6 degrees, and the engine coolant temp is below 75 degrees, the Webasto will start up and create a bit of smoke and smell.

It is possible to modify the system to give a user controlled Webasto pre-heat function which will warm the engine prior to startup. This can be achieved by a timer, or a remote fob, or even a telephone link.

Use the site search facility for hours of happy reading on the subject.
