Maybe fbh starts up then melts the snow, ecu sees a fault and shuts it down, so yes it is/was running but only for a very short period of time?

Hey guys. My disco4 webasto start and work sort of good
Problem is that I find that is am getting to little warmth in the cabin. It barely melts snow and ice. Secondly is the engine cold still when starting and it takes a while before warm

This is normal. 20 - 25 mins burn time is not enough. I'm in the uk. It has just started to melt a bit and Fbh turns off. Thanks LR. I read somewhere that this is save the battery.....

As stated earlyer here…

It needs at least 45 or 60mins runningtime as a parking heater in a 3l engine…

Fitting a semi traction battery will solve the battery drainage issue….

Running time can be lengthened by a W-bus command through (some (if not all) Webasto telestarts or a Altox remote… for instance….

To explain, a FBH is ONLY capable to warm the coolant with one or two degrees celcius (depending on the outside temp) in one “cycle”.
So… the bigger the coolant volume (the bigger the engine) the more cycles it needs…to warm the coolant and the metal and the inside air (who are also cooling the temp of the fluid again) so it needs time!

it also makes sense to delay the cabin heating… till the engine is at a certain temp…

You can do this by adding a “valve (electronically operated by the webasto) or a bypass valve, and or delay the cabin heating through a Altox… (like i do now)
 Best regards
Harold
