Webasto working but little heat to engine and cabin
Hey guys. My disco4 webasto start and work sort of good
Problem is that I find that is am getting to little warmth in the cabin. It barely melts snow and ice. Secondly is the engine cold still when starting and it takes a while before warm.
I can live with a cold cabin, but sure would like the coolant water to be warmer to avoid coldstarts.
I live in Lithuania, and it gets cooooollld in the nights, and it is hard on the engine when starting

Try taking the fuse out, number 2 in the engine compartment, for a couple of minutes.
It worked for me.

And you need to make sure you have enough fuel in the tank, not less than 1/4 full.

I know that it is running. The exhaust melts the snow under the car.
I will try with fuse 2, when I get to the car again tonight and it is nice and cold

Also, do you leave your heat controls on, ie. at least the fan on minimum when you switch off?

My D4 Webasto is wonderful, no exaggeration the heat hits you when the door is opened and very rarely is it running for more than 15 minutes, mine was factory fitted with remote, only mod to it I did pinch the silencer off the D3 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Guessing here
1. The heater has two heat modes. I wonder if it’s failed and somehow in low
Mode.
2. Maybe the heater matrix is partly blocked. Common on D3

If it runs as a PARKING Heater… (so no engine running)
It does NOT get the engine warm to full operating temp in half an hour when really cold…
Then they need more time with such a big engine….
I have an Altox and can vary the running time, so 45min or even 60 min when it is really freezing below minus “al lot”
I do not know, as i do not have a D4 if the running time can be varied…
Fuse pulling is only when it it needs a reset, has nothing to do with this… since it is running…
Some versions, have an extra controled valve…. Who steers ALL the heat to the engine, and only opens when the water is 70 degrees celcius, to the cabin heater matrix….
This valve is an option…….. you still need to lengthen the running time when it is colder than minus 0 degrees celcius…..
The optional valve:

Not so, mine was running, but not blowing heat into the car, a reset cured all.

D3 has a silencer on the heater exhaust, D4 doesn’t, mine has now It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
