Hello from Somerset
Hi all, been a lurker on the forum for a while and amazed at how active the forum is and the quality of the community.
I have a 55 plate HSE TDV6 and it's been fantastic. Just coming up to 98k with no real issue (touch of doom right there) the truck is pretty standard aside from led internal bulbs and a bt450 Bluetooth kit.
Pic attached!
Many thanks all
Rich

Hi all
Just picked up my Disco 3 TDV6 GS last weekend. I must say I prefer it to the wife's Fiat 500.
Predictably, I have uncovered a few problems already. So I'm straight into the Land Rover ownership experience
If anyone could give me some pointers that would be great!
At 125k, it's well over the limit for changing the timing belt. My question is – how much for parts and fitting if I take it to a Land Rover specialist (not an official one)? Am I better off buying the parts seperate off eBay?
Also I have read something about having the oil pump done at the same time, is this something people would recommend, and again how much extra will that be?
Anything else I should watch for?
Cheers!

Hello everyone!
Trevor and I are the proud owners of an Orange G4 Challenge Discovery 3 2008!!!
We are looking to share photos and experiences of these wonderful vehicles.
We will in Nafferton, East Yorkshire and wonder if any of you do any green lane off roading?
If so we would like to get involved.
Look forward to hearing from you all.
Trevor and Mandy

Hello everyone!
Hello Martin,
I've come across this site a number of times when looking up stuff to do with Disco 3's - and thought it's about time I joined.
I owned a Disco 2 up until just over a year ago, having spent a childhood with series land rovers, and though I loved it to bits I hadn't done my homework when I bought it, and bought a bit of a money pit.
I'm now considering a late D3 (or possibly an early D4), and look forward to tapping in to some of the knowledge from the folks on this site to help me chose what to do - so plenty of questions to start with and not so many answers
Cheers
Andy

new to the forum
Just picked up a discovery3 today
57 SE model
gave it a good drive, checked everything worked, 50 miles down the road a problem, well 2 problems
firstly, gave it some beans away from a set of traffic lights, 100 meters up the road loss of drive, all sorts of crap came up on the dash but in my panic I didn't read or make a note of it, turned it off, back on again, hasn't done it since, although I must admit I did take it quite easy, any suggestions?
second problem, vehicle will raise from normal road height, but wont return from it, or lower to access height, no faults displayed, it does after driving for a short white come up with the suspension fault light, and suspension fault message, but no other warning, not sure if the two are related?
hopefully someone has come across these issues before?

Welcome.
When you say “no fault seen” on the dashboard (I think this is what you mean) but what you should do is either read the fault codes (I think this is what you are not doing) either by yourself, by a forum member if anyone is close to you, at an Indy or at a dealer.. my order of preference.
Regarding the first issue, this might also be found by reading codes. It’s slightly difficult to say anything else.

1) could be turbo, scooted up. Don't drive it hard as something will break on these!
2) Suspension could require calibration. But if you aren't going to use off road, then don't bother

Hi , new to the forum. Found lots of help on here already for my Disco 4.
I have just fit a tow bar and electrics, and read that the trailer hitch can be enabled. Can anybody do this using their IID tool or would I need to purchase one ? In Lancashire area if theres anyone local that could do it .
