Hello from north London.
Bought a nice disco3 excellent service history only fault is the rear parking sensor but my independent land rover garage will sort it,just need to come out of self isolation. I'm sure I will use the forum when I am able to get out and have a drive..

Hi Martin. I've owned a Disco 4 for several years now having bought it at 6 months old and we are really enjoying it. The car is primarily used to tow our large caravan and has been perfect for this.
In view of the current crisis, keeping the car on my drive for several months, I was wandering how to keep the battery in good shape when we're not supposed to be doing long drives. The manual requires the battery to be removed from the car for charging but I was wondering whether a trickle charger would be OK to charge in situ.
Can you help with this issue

Trickle charging is fine in situ, the manual statement is LR covering themselves.
If you have towing electrics fitted you can buy a plug-in adapter from the site shop:

Been wanting to sign up for a while since i got the car, i must say that I've looked at loads of different forums and blogs since i git the car and this is by far the most informative and clear that i've found.
Thanks SK

Hi all thank you for accepting my membership
I have an 06 d3 manual which has driven half way around the world 335,000 miles
I’ve owned it about a year, passed its Mot with a couple of rear upper arms and all good until the flooding in February
I’ll post my problem separately but looking for some diagnostic help

FBH Fuel Pipe
Hi All,
After many years of avoiding landrovers - i brought 1 last year. I love the car ( she is called Mandy Landy)- however it reminds me regularly why i put it off for so long - never have i kept a car that has required so much work - it still staying though - i adore the thing! Having come from Audis and VWs its a different kettle of fish!
I am battling a few issues - issues battled so far are;
Front Wheel Bearings
Front Caliper
Torque Converter Replacement
EGR Valves and Coolers - 1 cooler leaked
Usual Service Requirements
Rear Brakes
Rear Prop
LPFP
I have some ongoing Battles - which if anyone could provide guidance would be very much appreciated.
I am swapping Transfer Box as last one had a rattle and every time 4x4 was called upon i got Special Functions off and it wouldn't go off road as TC kicked in all the time. Replacement does have the Solanoid Fitted - i need to energise the new one - but without GAP i cant do this?
To get the crossmember out, i had to heat the bolts but missed a small fuel pipe behind the bar - which nicely melted. I believe it is to the FBH, which is already disconnected - is it ok to clamp and shut this fuel line off?
I have a fault code which occaionally throughts gearbx fault - it shows as low injector pressure and possibly air intake - could a maf cause - i have already changed the LFPF - there is a slight rattle on over run which i am hoping is transfer box rather than HPFP.
Advice always greatfully recieved,

Hi Folks,
I bought an early Disco 3 last year. My first 4x4, primarily intended as a tow truck. I was aware of some problems but more, and serious ones, have since emerged. I guess this qualifies for membership here. As a work in progress it might be useful to share with other owners taking on difficult repairs, and I may be looking for help with some issues. I now realise these are complicated beasts, especially the higher spec variants.

Hi. Got a 54 plate Disco 3 for the straight sides and carrying capacity. Can drive the damn thing but every time it goes in for service, comes out with problems - latest - new rear discs and pads. Parking brake now growls and screams on occasion, done it twice and last time brake locked on. Did the manual release (manual tells you release cable is on the wrong side) and now parking in gear until lockdown ends. Not major issue unless it needs a new module - £600 I hear!
