At last taken delivery of the D3, Metropolis. HSE, 140k, lots of work done and gearbox / filter booked for. Tuesday, but not complete history, so 'll do what I can myself, but try to know my limits, sir to have issues soon. First LR, bought for towing a couple of ponies. It's come with a DIi which is nice. Blanked EGRs. Is that a good thing? They really are beasts, they just look to tough to go wrong!!! Very pleased to meet all of you, I know I'm going to enjoy the Asylum!

New owner - D3 in Somerset
Hi All, after learning to drive in a Series 1 Landy as a child I have always been hooked but it took me many years to get my hands on one. Until now.
I have bought a 08 D3 from an independent land rover garage with lots of extras and was very pleased.
Having read a lot about DPFs and had trouble with my old Ford SMax I got the EGRs blanked and had a remap. 2 days later the Electronic Park Brake seized on so it went back for fixing. All sorted with lots of apologies but I am a little nervous about using again so use P on the auto gear box a lot instead.
Driving it home after collecting from the EPB issue and it started making an awful noise. AA man said it was something major so it got lifted back to the garage where they told me it needed a new engine !
They were v good and offered me a full refund but I stuck with them and they replaced the engine. I've had it back for 4 days now and despite my nerves and waiting for something else to happen it all seems ok.
I'm hoping it was just bad luck and that I don't end up writing anymore sad stories of breakdowns and defects. Apart from all that I love it, everything I hoped it would be and the kids love it too. I will post some photos when I work out how to lol. Cheers from Somerset.

Welcome all
Tally - bad news about the engine but hopefully garage have resolved that problem. There is a saying on here "use it or lose it" so, as the EPB has been fixed, I would use it everytime you park up
MikeC - feel free to ask as many questions as you want - not sure about the quality of the ansrwes you'll get
Rydin - welcome indeed to the ayslum Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

Hi
Hello, All.
Took delivery of a D4 SE Tech about 8 weeks ago, in what seems is a lesser-spotted Montalcino Red. It's a comfy old thing to drive and the family love it too. Having just had the first few cold days all I can say is the FBH is a dream to have so far... I'll definitely look to invest in either a timer or remote for it in the near future.
Until then, I'll keep lurking and learning!

Hi all, just spotted the forum, and popped in to say hello. I have a D3 at the moment, still getting used to it after the D2.
I knew when I bought it, that it had been fitted with a new prop shaft, and wondered why. Over the 10 months I have owned it, it has started to vibrate at a certain speed(around 45mph).when running easy on the throttle and a slight gradient. This has now expanded to happen between 40mph-60mph. I have been in today to have the centre bearing checked, and it seems to be ok.
I ruled out wheel balance by swapping the set of wheels to another set I had, no difference.
Is it possible that the prop shaft is out of true, and if so, can you get them balanced up in a lathe?.
John.

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you have an Auto and your torque converter has started to fail. Do a quick search there are a large number of threads on this subject.

Use the EPB every time. Park up, foot on brake, put it into N, apply EPB, take foot off brake to put the weight onto the EPB, then put it into P.
Far too much weight to be avoiding the EPB MY16 Landmark - Yulong White

Hello all...!!
My wife had just purchased a Disco’ 3 and there are one or two lights popping up on the dashboard and the key seems to be falling apart (and not working)!
We thought we’d hop on here for some help and advice...
