Hi all
il picciotto here from Italy.
Been an LR Disco fan for ages and finally purchased one here in Italy about 3 weeks ago.
No real issues so far. Car runs well. I am an (extremely) amateur home/car DIYer. Like to get my hand dirty but realise there is so much to learn.
Just wanted to introduce myself and look forward to reading the discussions on here

Morning all,
Obviously new to the group. I've just got a D3 as a bit of a run around, work vehicle and wives horsebox back up tow vehicle.
We have a Defender 200tdi and 110 TD5 and have had RRs so are familiar with the brand . Lol.
But gonna need some pointers and technical help with the D3.

Thanks CDS. Yeah it's performing well so far, traction control playing up a bit. But apart from that 👍

Hello from a prospective D3/D4 owner!
Hi everyone,
I’m on the prowl for a D3 or D4 so thought I’d join the forum and keep an eye out on here.
I’ve had a D2 TD5 for a year or so and a TD5 defender 110.
Currently drive a Subaru outback but I’ve had it 6 months and that’s long enough for me…

Hi all,
After owning a Discovery 2 td5 for 15 years, driving it all over Europe, and moving it to 3 countries, it's time to retire it.........(I still own it, and possibly will restore it). Also a member of 4x4 Response (via the Midland Rover Owners Club)
Now, I bought my second Land Rover, and after owning a Jaguar XK with the same V8, I knew it had to be the 4.4 V8. Thanks for letting me in the club, here is my 2005 HSE in Bonatti Grey.

Discovery 3 HSE Vienna Green
Hi all,
Have used this forum so much for mechanical help and advice over the last couple of years thought it was time I added and showed my hand.
Ive got a Discovery 3 HSE in Vienna Green. It's the best car i've ever owned. Also - wondering how rare this model and colour is - I recently googled it. Couldn't find much about it apart from a die cast model... and on closer inspection I realised it's not only similar - it's basically the same car - numberplate and all (see pics)
Such a great community here. Also thinking about a 5 very soon ... someone tell me it's madness.
Cheers all.

Discovery 3 Not Starting
Thank you for the invite to join.
I have been trawling the internet to try and find solutions to my starting issue of my D3. I went to it after work last week, turned the key and nothing. I have not normally had any issues with it other than a few cold start issues that I've put down to a faulty glow plug or two. it would generally start up, but definitely turned over. There are no dash warnings or notices. The battery is only 12 months old, old one died and its charged - 12.6V. When I turn the key the lights do not dim, it just clicks.
Some sites pointed towards a faulty starter solenoid on the starter motor, which I changed last night and still just a click. I have check battery terminals both +/- all cleaned and good. I was thinking now possibly a starter relay? which I believe is behind the fuse box in the passenger footwell.
Am I heading in the right direction, or can someone please advise.

Start a new thread.
But, yes. Change the relay. It’s under the bonnet, marked SM

Hi everyone!!
Hi,
Another landrover nut here, current D4 is my 17th consecutive landrover, but only my fourth discovery.
Had a few defenders over the years, couple of classic raro, couple of F2 SD4, a 4.6 P38, a D3, one of the last puma 110XS utility, but the D4 is the most quiet and comfortable landrover ive had by a long long way.
The D4 is a weekend toy at the moment, hoping to keep it that way.

Good evening everyone,
I am a Land Rover fan and have owned a few over the years:- in order a 1987 Range Rover (Classic) in the early 1990's, a Discovery 1 300 series, Range Rover L322 LPG conversion, Discovery 2 TD5, and a 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6. I have had numerous other cars in between.
I have now bought an early 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 in Arctic Frost with 213k miles on the clock from a friend of my son. I am amazed how well it drives for an 18 year old vehicle with such high mileage. Its very smooth, quiet and pulls a lot better than I was expecting. There are a few marks on the bodywork but otherwise its in very good condition.
I took it for an MOT last week and asked the mechanic to have a look underneath to check the condition and in particular the rear brake pipe that runs across the rear subframe. He said there was no corrosion, there are lots of replacement parts on it and it was one of the best he's seen. It passed with no advisories.
The only faults at the moment are the outside temperature is not displaying (new sensor on order), aircon not working (will try to get it re gassed but suspect there will be a leak somewhere) and the fridge isn't working (which I'm not really worried about).
Really loving it and my wife is very impressed with it too
