Its been a long time and a great journey I'm sure, but I understand your reasons. I do hope LR hear your message, because if they don't there are going to be a lot more like you.
Good luck Paul, and hope you look in occasionally.

After 19 years, nearly 14 in Discovery 3s and 4, my Land Rover days have just been signed away. Disillusionment with LR dealers, engines and new models has led me to the dark side.
I have just signed up for a 2 year old Porsche Cayenne V8 diesel that someone has gone mad with the options list. No it won't do much off road but it does tow 3.5t, does have more room in the cabin than the D4, has a sound to die for and does 0-60 in just over 5 seconds.
It won't suit some/many but now is as good a time as any to change, try out the Porsche experience, swerved the crankshaft issue and oil dilution fiasco and to quote the D5 owners I don't have to see how ugly it is from the inside.
So vultures can start circling, there will be a host of items coming up from unused HSE Lux deep pile carpet mats, used rubber mats and load liners to RLD wheel protectors and a Lintran cage.
Sorry to see you go

Cheers for that; the dealer told me at my last service my pads were all shot and quoted an exhorbitant amount, I had them checked elsewhere - I’m still driving on them. My warranty covers failing cranks and the car doesn’t have oil dilution issues either so I’ll take my chance on service costs. Nobody runs cars on peanuts, I will get big bills I’ve had increasingly big bills since buying a D3 in Jan 2005.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Fantastic Guava knew mine, Harwoods knew mine. Then they changed.... I’ve not knocked my car it’s great, I’ve run my cars far longer than most on here and never had extended warranties, but I’m not prepared to take the risk now we don’t have anywhere I trust down here.
Some have had no problems some have had a load of problems, all cars have problems but if you can’t trust the people to look after you and the car all you can do is walk. I don’t want to pay over £80k for a TDV8 RRS or more for a FFRR which I still wouldn’t have a relationship with, but I am prepared to pay under £50k for a low mileage car that cost over £80k 2 years ago have the ability to keep that car under warranty for up to 15 years or 150k miles and have fun along the way. I’m quite happy to jump in someone else’s motor when I shoot for a change and the tractor is pretty capable on my land at home. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
