I've got a 911 as well as the Disco and I can tell you which one scares me the most 'big bill' wise - and it ain't the Porsche! I'm out of warranty on the 911 but wouldn't dream of doing the same in the D4, which says a lot.

Good luck with the new motor!

Nah, that’s ok. It’s when they want to start charging you rent for your car’s stays you need to be concerned. Whistle Whistle Mind you, I’m not sure what’s worse, your LR dealer’s Service Manager knowing your name or your bank manager to plead for money to pay said Service Manager

I’m in a similar position to Pelyma re dealership. Changed to Wimbledon LR from Guava, there was nobody left at the site I had work done that I’ve met so no chance they would know my name. Now that site (Godalming) is PDI only. Re Wimbledon, got the “don’t believe what you see on the internet” line and I was one of the very, very unlucky few to have an issue when my car died the previous year. Yeah right. Luckily my D4 hasn’t had any issues where I’ve had to go in and say “it’s done x, y & z, something needs fixed” then had the drawing air through teeth and the pound signs dance in front of the dealer’s face as they figure out what to try first.

DG, may your good relationship/bromance with your dealer continue. Thumbs Up

You must make a good impression if they remember your name only seeing them once a year. Or is it nipping in for all those free coffee and biscuits? Whistle

There might have been a few TSB's and warranty work ....particularly on the two D3's because... as you all know ...they were \ are a bag of Censored Rolling with laughter

In the main the two D4's and the D5 have only been services though

No I'm not stupid Rich, that's why I ignore your trolling Thumbs Up I found issues of engine failures, mainly in the petrol varieties but some in the oil burning types and even some crank issues, but like I say Porsche extended warranty covers that, unfortunately LR doesn't despite putting their name to the policy - it's a real shame they don't have your belief in the product or we'd all have warranties that equalled the Koreans Thumbs Up

My local LR dealership did because they never managed to do things properly first time (or actually broke stuff themselves) so it was back in again far too often.

The dealerships are LR's biggest issue, IMO. Bigger even than the silly prices LR charge for the vehicles.

It’s your fault I’ve bought what I have!

Well I picked it up today, which was a very slick but friendly process. I was introduced to the service department but I won’t be meeting them for another 16000 miles, when I’ll be able to choose from the Porsche range as a courtesy car. The car’s warranty runs until June 2021 which was longer than I expected.

The drive home was awesome, very different to the D4 but awesome all the same. With 850nm of torque the car pulls and pulls and I can’t wait to tow with it. It’s a marmite car but I have to say so far I’m smitten.
