When I worked in the trade the change date was the 1st august. We used to start to PDI and prep cars starting the 1st July, towards the end of July it could take an hour at the start and end of the day to pack/unpack them all from the workshop. We used to send out on average between 20/30 cars on the morning of the 1st, VW's and Audi's.

Wow! Russel, you mean you modified your efforts or resources to suit demand.
A novel business idea but I'm sure it wont catch on. Rolling Eyes

Mine has also just arrived at the dealers, and is also an Aintree Green HSE. Has in controls apps, so should soon know what the fuss is all about!

My brother-in-law used to be a body sprayer, his workshop was always full running up to change date trying to rectify the humungous amounts of damage done by transporters and yard handling prior to them going out to customers as new Shocked - and that was our local main stealer Shocked Shocked Shocked

Yes I used to see a lot of that. The only franchise I did not see that to much on was Renault where all the cars came covered in a very thick wax like substance that seemed to protect many of the panels. Funny enough Audi were at the time one of the worst offenders, 50% of the cars off the transporter were damaged. Audi Avante estates were damaged just driving on and off the transporter as the rear bumper was very low.

I was at my local dealer last week and on the way out had to wait for a transporter coming in full of Discos and RR and watched it scrape all the top ones on the overhanging tree branches.
Made me cringe Shocked
