1) Journey home today from Liverpool. Absolutely it down on M6, sheets of water running across motorway and...... they were gritting the motorway
Perhaps they knew what was coming ?

NatWest!
Business profile update. I've sent all the info they requested, but they keep sending threatening letters suggesting they'll restrict my business bank account unless I send all the information!
Then I call, and they say "Oh yes, we have everything we need from you, but our analysts need to check it".
Then f g check it, and stop sending me threatening letters!!!!!!

Oh, you're preaching to the choir with those. Makes my blood boil, not because they'll be in an accident but because they'll involve someone else in it. And the someone else will probably end up worse off than them too. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

even if it was snow/ice/3rd ice-age forecast (and I've not heard that the Knutsford service area is 'snowed in' today ) at the time they were doing zero percent of the salt/grit going down was staying on the road, it was running straight off

And most of the numpties with either drl’s or no lights also all seem to be unable to use the heaters and blower as most have completely steamed up windows just to add to their window licking status.2006 TdV6 HSE.

Deliveroo - must be raking it in but can't afford to give there delivery cyclists lights for their bikes......and the brain donor cyclists don't have the sense to get their own. I must have seen about 10 last night walking from work to the station (15 minutes).
Guess who will get the blame when a car wipes one out.........

And that would be why they have their fog lights on all the time I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

How the hell wasn’t the driver given a prison sentence
I think we discussed this when it happened and there was a bet he wouldn't have informed his insurance of the mods done..

Indeed. Difficult to see why there wasn't a prosecution for something in that, even if just for the litany of vehicle faults.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

"An examination of the vehicle found that a wheel bearing was missing, or out of place, which had caused the wheel to come off."
"He [Police forensic witness] said there was a "considerable brake fluid leak from the near side front wheel".
"The evidence of a full bottle of brake fluid bought on March 3 and a half-empty fluid bottle meant the driver was aware of the fault."
"Earlier, the coroner's court had heard that Mr Perkins had been driving for just over a year at the time, and had owned eight vehicles in his first 12 months on the roads."
Wow.

Housing can be designed to be ok even on that field. It adds cost etc., but can be done. Whether it will be done is another issue.
This whole "building on the flood plain" thing is a bit amusing, really, as huge numbers of houses are built on flood plains and have been since the Romans were here. Towns are built next to rivers and specifically next to crossing points on rivers. And rivers flood. They have done since the planet first cooled enough for rivers to form. Just about every large town in the country is built "on a flood plain" to some extent.
The alternative is to only build houses on high ground. And I can hear the complaints about that already. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
