wheel alignment/ balancing/tracking |
|
To save my tyres from uneven wear etc what are the symptoms of bush wear, tracking / wheel alignment issues apart that is from from worn tyres !!
My previous disco had the uneven tyre wear and I would like to avoid it this time. What do I tell the dealer at the next service to ensure I can get a tracking alignment done ON WARRANTY. In truth at 85 ( last French trip) I did feel a bit of vibration on the wheel which was anoying at 2 oclock in the morning and a 12 hour drive and I may still have a tad at high speeds it seems to come and go. The tyre pressures are correct.

According to
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic19737.html?highlight=alignment
it should be checked anyway at service. I am going to watch this thread for the expert answers.
I am sure my steering feels more "wandery" after leaving ACCESS mode to normal and much tighter and slightly dead after leaving EXTENDED mode to normal. (I change about 4 times a day for a variety of reasons). 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

Dealer thought it was so the tyre wear was reduced and LR wouldn't have claims for new tyres. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Nope. Still takes the best part of an hour just to check the alignment. And strictly speaking, it has to go on the computer to set it up for an alignment...
Doubt you could get an alignment kit for less than £350 On Disco 3, you can adjust camber, caster and toe on the front. And on the rear, camber and toe. If you can knock up something that can measure all that for under £1000, put my name down for one

i was quoted £180.00 for the alignment, but manged to find out where they took the car and went direct.... ( local tyre emporium) i had two wheels out of alignment and was charged about £60.00 (£30.00 per corner if all four wheels are out)
LR quoted price assume all four need adjustment ... i had 75k on the clock when i had mine checked and two where in tolerance.. two in and two out......
Find out where the stealer goes as i bet not many have the laser set up required. i'm lovin it....
