Which is Left ?
... when discussing engine parts I take it that 'Left' is whilst sitting in the D3 as oppossed to looking at it head on from outside.
Can someone please confirm.

As local garage hadn't done an egr cooler before, when he lifted the bonnet to have a look, he wanted to be sure before he started stripping bits away, that he was working on the correct side.
As it is, he's not able to do it this afternoon with a guarantee of getting it back to me by closing time.
LR quoted 2 hours, he was concerned that being first time, it might take longer and didn't want to let me down, as I'm towing on hol tomorrow.I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

whick is left hand side
I recently had a car with EGR fault - left hand bank on an Autologic . Checked both bank EGR valves but started with LH side - as viewed when sat in the vehicle facing forward. The LH EGR was the faulty one so can confirm LH side is when viewed looking forward whilst sat in the car.Chris Bowler

But surely and logically, the left side of the engine is the left side as viewed when looking at the engine from the mechanic / technicians point of view and not the drivers
Near side and off side I guess are the correct terms... whatever side of the road you drive on even though they are interchangeable.
