which tool to use to fit/unfit wheels
With the changing between summer and winter standing behind the door and extra wheels with AT tyres, I was wondering what is the best tool to loosen/tighten the wheel screws.
With the X-tool (sorry don't know the English name: a X with on each end one size 17, 19, 22 & 24 ...) I wasn't able to loosen up the screws in autumn.
The Land Rover emergency tool performed remarkably well for such a fragile piece of steel....
However I don't want to test it too much because it seems it will pass out soon. Seen some comments on the site about this happening....
So what to buy? Any suggestions? Do I need a momentum spanner?
Sorry if my question is stupid for most of you! Some people get by
With a little understanding
Some people get by
With a whole lot more
I dont know
Why you gotta be so undemanding

1/2" drive 22mm socket and a breaker bar is what I carry around in mine for this purpose. ......oh and best to use a torque wrench for doing them up to correct torque.(140Nm).

how strange, I couldnt shift mine with either the standard LR wheelbrace, or an 1/2 socket, but did get them loose with the spider. Pulling one side, pushing the other.
