Wierd Ghostly Bongs

Just a concerned and worried MacLeod. Since my D3 has been back from its Rogue Dealer, each time I go through the start sequence, waiting for the glow plug light to go out, I get a BONG. Now it is'nt cos the outside temperature is 4 degress or lower as that makes a BONG.

Just concerned cos when my TURBO went I got a BONG the the "i", scrolling through the screen saying "Engine System Fault". Now I still have a ghostly BONG and nowt on the info screen.

Am I being paranoid, or could the Rogue Dealer have disabled the info screen stopping me viewing things.

Was there not a case a while back that folks were losing their 'bongs' after a software update??

I remember this from a while back, that we had bongers and non-bongers Rolling Eyes

Well funny you say that JKP, I did'nt think I had so many BONGS before. Lights on, door open, key in Ignition, temperature, info screen, seat belt etc etc etc.

But when I broke down I had a DOWNLOAD by the LRA man as he said my system was probably in need of updating.

Hi all,

Once every while, my D3 will also give me a BONG and apparently it assumes I wish to speak to it i.e. the speech recog thing kicks in.

"Drawing on my fine command of language, I say nothing". As you know, the speech recog lady then repeats what you've said... or rather what she understood of it. Last time when I asked for 'CD ON' the readback was 'Navigation, restaurant' Smile

Anybody who recognises this, or is it just one of these things you have to live with?

Smile

Wiljo

Do NOT speak to your car. It is an inanimate object. Seek help ... soon. Shocked
